The InterContinental David: a Tel Aviv hotel that will take your Israel experience to the next level!

No excuses, the InterContinental David Hotel has to be on your list of must-try hotels in Tel Aviv!

We recently spent a night at the hotel on a recent visit to Tel Aviv, and were blown away with just so many of the aspects of the hotel…not least the location, the service, the views, and the gorgeously renovated rooms!

A stay at the David InterContinental isn’t going to be for backpackers and those on a tighter budget (it’s no surprise that this hotel regularly makes the list of the best luxury hotels in Israel – if you need something a bit more budget-friendly, try these awesome Tel Aviv hostels), but for those of you looking for a wee bit of luxury, class, and a prime location, you’ll be hard pressed to find better…

That Location…

Tel Aviv David IntercontinentalThe InterContinental David is located at one of the most prime Tel Aviv locations you could possibly imagine…with some of Israel’s best beaches just a stone’s throw from your room, the Carmel Market just a quick stroll away, and one of Tel Aviv’s most charming neighborhoods – Neve Tzedek – practically on your doorstep, don’t be surprised if you never make it back to your room!

In fact, the hotel seems to factor in its location as one of the decisive factors. The hotel’s General Manager David Cohen pointed out to us that the hotel was perfectly located for almost every guest and every guest’s special unique interests. We couldn’t argue, as the hotel seemed full of families, young couples, groups of mature citizens – you name it, every demographic you could think of seemed to be there!

One thing we certainly noticed…the hotel seems HUGE (there are some 555 rooms!) but we never felt we were part of a huge hotel complex. Everything seemed , well, cozy, and even intimate.

The Service

The staff at the InterContinental David were pretty darned impressive! From the relaxed reception staff to the waiters and room cleaners, and even to the Chef of the in-house Aubergine restaurant (where we had a great meal, accompanied by an awesome bottle of chilled Yarden white!), the hotel has a great team in place. Eager to please – but not too overbearing – these boys and girls will make sure your every whim is catered for!

The Views

When you’re located right on the Tel Aviv shoreline, whichever window you look out of you can’t really go wrong. Even from the outdoor pool there are some gorgeous sunset views to enjoy, as the hustle and bustle of one of Tel Aviv’s busiest roads goes practically unnoticed just a few meters away (the pool is above street-level, so you’d almost never know the road was even there…).

The view we woke up to…

If you can, upgrade yourself to ensure you have access to the Club Lounge because then you’ll be wowed by views from the 24th floor, which are pretty special. From there (well, you could watch it from any floor, but the higher you are, the more stunning a view!) watch the sun sink into the Med over a glass of wine and you’ll kick off your evening in the perfect way. Or just head up to the Lounge whenever you feel like it – just don’t forget the camera.

The Rooms

We were booked in for a room on the 16th floor, which meant great views and a superbly spacious room. The hotel has recently undergone some extensive renovations, so we’re pretty sure each and every room has seen some nice modifications. Apparently the hotel is still renovating other parts of the building, with the swimming pool next on the list.

Mrs iGoogled was especially won over by the art and small touches in our room, as well as the art pieces scattered throughout the hotel lobby and reception areas. Personally, I fell in love with the promo video that was playing on the TV from the moment we opened our room’s door. Very atmospheric! The wine and chocolates waiting for us probably helped a little…

But again, with the location you find yourselves in, will you even be spending any time in that room…?
