Abraham Hostel, Tel Aviv
Quickly established as the No.1 hostel in Israel, this huge hostel has fast become the hostel to go to. Great rooms, great staff and owners, and some great events in the huge bar/lounge (every day!) mean this Tel Aviv hostel is definitely going to be on your shortlist. Fauzi Azar Inn, Nazareth
The Fauzi Azar Inn is a hostel cum guest-house that might just blow your socks off! Located in the Old City of Nazareth, and just around the corner from the aromas and sounds of the local outdoor market, this hostel is bursting with character! Not strictly a hostel, the Port Inn got our vote thanks to some great staff and an excellent breakfast! If you’re looking to base yourselves in Haifa to explore the north of Israel, you won’t go far wrong with this place. Read our full review here.
Abraham Hostel Jerusalem
The original Abraham Hostel, the one that launched a thousand (and more) traveler dreams…a truly cozy, authentic hostel with some great friendly staff and owners, and some happening events pretty much every night of the week. Shkedi’s Camplodge, Ne’ot HaKikar
Located at one of the hottest spots in the world, Shkedi’s Camplodge is an amazing gem just south of the Dead Sea. It’s not a hostel as such, but typically hosts backpackers, families and small groups in some pretty cool wooden cabins and tents – if you’re looking for a romantic getaway there’s also a refurbished, isolated bus to sleep in. The Green Backpackers, Mizpeh Ramon
This little hostel (it only has 25 beds) is a great location for some Negev desert fun, as it’s based in Mitzpe Ramon, on the edge of the Ramon Crater. And yes, they’re “green” for a reason – they recycle all that is recyclable. For more details, click here.
Golan Heights Hostel
The Golan Heights Hostel is another cute little hostel that you might end up falling in love with. With just 28 beds, the hostel is located in the northern Golan Heights, perfectly situated for exploring some of the Golan’s amazing attractions. For more details, click here.
Overstay Hostel, Tel Aviv

Khan Ein Gedi, Dead Sea
This great little “resort” overlooks the Dead Sea and is located right next door to Kibbutz Ein Gedi. As there aren’t too many alternatives in this area, this is a great option that seems to be maturing very nicely. We were there in its first days. but now see they’ve expanded their accommodation options and made things look a little nicer! Read our full review here.
Juha’s Guesthouse, Jisr az-Zarqa
If you’re looking for something totally unique and just a wee bit off the tourist trail, head to Juha’s. Located in Jisr az-Zarqa, the only Arab village in Israel located on the Mediterranean Sea, you’re only a 5 minute walk from one of the last untamed beaches in the Med, with an authentic fishermen’s village to also enjoy! Small and cozy with only 18 beds, this is a great little option for those of you looking to connect with the locals. For more details, click here.
