Tel Aviv: officially the Gay Capital of Israel!

With Gay Pride Month hitting us this month – bang in the middle of a pandemic – it comes as no real surprise that Tel Aviv has been named the gay-friendliest city in Israel!

Tel Aviv Gay PrideOf course, Tel Aviv has long been known for its gay-friendliness, and as well as hosting the world renowned Pride Parade every summer, was also previously voted the Gay Capital of the World!

LGBTQ activists in Israel created the first Gay-Friendly City Index in 2020, and Tel Aviv, with its own dedicated LGBTQ department, easily topped the list.

Coming in a surprise second was the city of Rishon Letzion, a few miles south of Tel Aviv.

Just in case you were wondering, Jerusalem is not the place to be if you’re part of the LGBTQ community, coming in at number 22 on the list. Jerusalem provides no services for the community, and there is no funding for the Gay Pride and tolerance events – Jerusalem, pull yer socks up!

If you’re looking for an awesome value-packed tour package that wraps up the best of Pride Tel Aviv (for next year!), this is for you.
