The Tel Aviv Marathon, one of the biggest events in the Israel sports calendar, returns on Friday March 15th, 2013!
Some 35,000 runners are expected to take part in Israel’s largest marathon (yes, there is also a competing Jerusalem Marathon, perhaps the holiest marathon in the world for those interested in running amid some true, ancient history!), and with a range of courses to run in (yes, there is even Tel Aviv’s first ever Pride Run!) there’s something for everyone!
This annual marathon is a huge event, designed for both the professional and hobbyist. The available courses include:
- Half Marathon
- 10km Urban Run
- 4.2km 10% Race
- 420m Kids Marathon
- The first ever Pride Run
- Inline Skating Half Marathon
- 30km Handcycle Race
It’s a beautiful run alongside Tel Aviv’s beaches and through some of Tel Aviv’s picturesque areas.
For more information, and to register, see the official site (in English!).
Note that if you register before 16th February you’ll catch an early bird discount. For example, registering for the full marathon will cost you 240 shekels, but registering after the 16th February it will cost you 280 shekels.
