Tel Aviv has some mighty fine restaurants these days, with more springing up by the week. It’s probably a little daunting if you don’t know where you’re going, but our little list of some of the best restaurants in Tel Aviv should set you straight. And get your mouth watering just a teeny bit…
There are literally hundreds of Tel Aviv restaurants these days, offering an amazing range of quality, delicious food (it’s not all about felafel and hummus in Israel!). The sheer range of restaurants in Tel Aviv has left local residents, and visitors, spoiled for choice.
It even gets a little confusing sometimes, as one restaurant you start to like suddenly shuts its doors for good. But, as quickly as one closes down, another pops along, freshens up the decor and brings in yet another rising star chef to obliterate all memory of the previous restaurant.
Here are our very favorite restaurants in Tel Aviv (click here for our collection of the most popular, BEST restaurants in Tel Aviv) – and for those of you interested, none are kosher. Hopefully all of which will still be around when you come and visit.
In no particular order…
The Coffee Bar
Neither a cafe or a bar, it’s actually a very decent Tel Aviv restaurant/bistro that leaves a good impression on almost everyone who visits. Well worth trying out and to show off to guests from abroad.

Telephone: 03-6889696
Open: Sun-Fri 09:00-24:00; Sat from 12:00
Orna and Ella
NOW CLOSED
One of the most popular restaurants in Tel Aviv with lines almost permanently out of the door. It serves great pastries and espresso, plus sandwiches, salads, pastas, and the must-try sweet-potato fritters. Don’t forget to try their desserts!

Telephone: 03-6204753
Open: Sun-Fri 10:00-00:00, Sat 11:00-00:00
Manta Ray
One of the killer locations of any of the Tel Aviv restaurants we’ve listed, right on Tel Aviv beachfront. Great food and service – just reserve in advance at the weekend – it’s steaming every Friday/Saturday. Famous for its mezze (appetizers) and seafood.
Address: Tel Aviv promenade at Alma Beach, close to Yafo.
Telephone: 03-5174773
Open: Daily 09:00-24:00
Onami
Some people swear by this place as the only place for Asian food in Tel Aviv. It made our Top 5 sushi restaurant list, deservedly so. If you love Japanese food, this Tel Aviv restaurant is for you. Not cheap, but great service.
Address: 18 Ha’arba’ah Street
Telephone: 03-5620981
Open: Sun-Thurs 12:00 – 22:30, Fri-Sat 17:00-22:30
Barbunya
One of Tel Aviv’s best seafood restaurants, with a great variety of fish and shrimps, depending on the day’s catch. I’ll be honest, I hate fish but really enjoyed the lively atmosphere (plus great mezze and beer) and my friends loved the shrimp.
Address: 192 Ben Yehuda Street
Telephone: 03-5276965
Open: Sun-Thurs 12:00 – last customer, Fri 12:00-18:00
Benedict
A great Tel Aviv restaurant that serves breakfast all day 24/7. Good food, not too expensive, almost European-like in the heart of the action. Nice and mellow with some classic Hebrew tunes in the background but very busy at the weekend.
Address: 171 Ben Yehuda Street
Telephone:057-9443406
Open: 24/7 (bless ’em!)
Zepra
One of the best Asian restaurants in Tel Aviv. It’s also the place to go if you have some spare cash as it’s not cheap. Pricey, modern and very stylish, you’ll like it (your bank manager less).
Address: Yigal Alon 96, Beit Ampha, Tel Aviv
Telephone: 03-6240044
Hudson Brasserie
Trendy American-style brasserie, with elements of Latin America and the Far East. Menu is changed every 3 months. They reckon they are meat “experts” and after trying one of their steaks you might be inclined to agree.
Address: 27 Habarzel Street, Ramat Hachayal
Telephone: 03-6444733
Open: Sun–Thurs, Sat afternoons-evenings, Fri all day.
Tapeo
A great Tapas bar that’ll win you over with its Spanish atmosphere. If not the atmosphere, then the Tapas, Ceviche (actually from South America) or powerful Sangria will convince you for sure. Lively place most nights, it’s definitely worth a try.
Address: 16 Ha’arba’ah Street
Telephone: 03-6240484
Open: Daily after 7pm
Bellini
A great Italian restaurant, in a cute location (right next to the Suzanne Dellal Center in Neve Tzedek). My good mate was a chef there so she got to show me some great Italian dishes. Lots of olive oil! I like the place a lot.
Address: Yechieli 6, Neve Tzedek
Telephone: 03-5178486
Open: Sun-Sat 12:00 – 24:00
