Montel Williams, the famous American TV star (you might know him from the long running Montel Williams Show, or for his various infomercials), popped over to the Holy Land yesterday for a quick visit. He spent the night at the awesome Inbal Hotel in Jerusalem, and had dinner with lone soldiers and US marines. Some card playing was also on the agenda, so we’re told.
As Montel himself put it:
Because of my 22 years in the military, wherever I go throughout the world I make a point of spending time with troops. I very much identify with the Lone Soldiers program, and admire the strength and courage of these young men and women from around the world who put their lives on the line for Israel. The risk they and all Israelis face on a daily basis was put in sharp focus for me last night when I learned of the attack on Ashdod during the event last night.
As I told the Lone Soldiers last night, my heart aches for those affected by these unprovoked acts of terrorism for which there is no acceptable excuse and no reasonable justification. Murder is not an acceptable political strategy, and I believe that the younger generation, on both sides, has a unique opportunity to come together to stop these senseless acts of terrorism. I am humbled that I had the opportunity to spend time with this exceptional group of young people.
A feel good visit to the Holy Land from a celeb, the kind of stuff we like!
Welcome to the Holy Land Montel!
