It’s that time of year again: Purim Party time!
There’s nothing like the Jewish holiday of Purim for letting your hair down, getting funky, and hey, even getting dressed up in stockings, lipstick, and a wig (there you go, my Purim costume is out of the bag!). The Holy Land will surely party for the two/three days Purim runneth!
This year we’ve configured our party radar to search ever wider…so here they are, five awesome Purim parties to enjoy! And please, any sordid, drunken pictures should be forwarded to us for, er, reference…!
This year (2018), Purim runs from 28 February – 3 March, with parties happening everywhere and on each day/night!
Tel Aviv Street Party
The very funky and very popular Tel Aviv Street Party is holding yet another Purim party bash. It’s taking place on Friday March 2 at 12:00 noon at Kikar HaMedina. Best of all it’s FREE! For more details, see their Facebook page. Here’s a taster of what to expect…
Abraham Hostel Purim Party
The guys at the awesome Abraham Hostel in Tel Aviv are having another great Purim party. This year, head over on February 28 if you’re really looking for a good time with fellow tourists and locals! Tickets cost 50 shekels, for more details, see their Facebook event page.
Circoloco Rave in Tel Aviv
If you’re really in the mood to let your hair down, head to the Convention Center in Tel Aviv for the latest & greatest rave from Circoloco! Tickets ain’t cheap, starting at 210 shekels a pop, but in return you’re getting some rave all-stars, including the Martinez Brothers and Luciano. The action takes place on March 1, for more info and ticket details see the event site.
Purim Desert Festival
A little more hippiefied and out of the way is the traditional rave at Desert Ashram: 3 days (March 1-3) of trance, reggae, world music, and general free living. Tickets are 320 shekels for the 3 days, it’s an intimate but cool gig, and as they put it: love is the compass.. music is the background.. the magic is the people...
And finally…Purim across the country!
If you’re in Tel Aviv, Herzliya, or Eilat (we don’t see their branch in Jerusalem is included), head to Mike’s Place for some live rock-n-roll, great beers, and costume contests galore! Entrance is FREE, see their Facebook page for more details about where and when.

…the annual FREE Block Purim Party in Tel Aviv, where the whole ‘hood gets out and parties in the street! As of right now, the location is still not confirmed, but check out their event page for details.
