Those 80s and 90s monsters of synth pop Depeche Mode have announced they are kicking their world tour off in Israel in May 2013!
The date has now been confirmed as May 7th, 2013, with HaYarkon Park as the confirmed venue. The concert will launch their new world tour accompanying their new album, yet to be released. And without a doubt, this concert has already become one of the major events of 2013!
The Basildon UK boys last performed here in 2009 (yes, we were there!), to a huge crowd of 50,000 eager fans. That concert also opened their last concert tour, the Tour of the Universe, that accompanied the Sounds of the Universe album.
If we’re being completely honest, a lot of those fans were left disappointed by the gig in 2009. Perhaps a question of over-anticipation, taking into consideration they have a huge fan base in Israel and had previously cancelled their last gig in Israel at the last minute. Let’s hope this time round Dave Gahan interacts with the crowd a little earlier, and they play a few more of their golden oldies.
Tickets are currently on special offer at 295 shekels, but this will rise in the next couple of days – so snap up those tickets! Call *9066 for further details.
Listening to Never Let Me Down Again and It’s No Good (see below) in the midst of a 50,000 strong crowd is definitely something we’ll be doing again! How about you?
