If you’re looking for a great place to stay in the Galilee, whether for a romantic getaway or family get-together, we can highly recommend Bar BaKfar!
Tucked away in a little rural farming village (Moshav Sarona) in the Lower Galilee, Bar BaKfar is constantly ranked as one of the very best B&Bs in Israel by leading travel review site Trip Advisor. And once you get here, it’s easy to understand why…
Located close to the magnificent Mount Tavor (and the Church of the Transfiguration), and within easy driving distance of the Sea of Galilee, Nazareth, and Tiberias, you’re close enough to some truly great attractions, some of northern Israel’s must-see sites!
If you’re also looking to explore your Christian roots, this is a great location to rest your weary head while you go and explore the afore-mentioned spots. Apart from the Holy City of Jerusalem, this area of Israel is one of most-traveled routes by Christian pilgrims, and you’re sure to come across bus loads of pilgrims through the peak tourist months.
But what about Bar BaKfar? Is it worth the stopover?
The owners at Bar BaKfar are a terrific bunch and know how to host. And when you’re being hosted in the style of a French chateau replete with good wine – yes, they make their own award-winning wine and you also get to try some – it doesn’t really get much better…
The place itself features a large, sumptuous villa which can host a number of families (perfect for family get-togethers) and a number of individual units spread over a fairly large space. There’s also the swimming pool, which is perfect for those hot, summer days, and which looks out across their own vineyard over to Mount Tavor in the distance. In short, it’s gorgeous!
Oh, and we almost forgot – there’s also a wonderful breakfast to enjoy, freshly served every morning, and personally prepared by owner Nili!
Not too far from Tel Aviv (about 80 minutes drive) but far enough to feel like you’re escaping the hustle and bustle of the city, add Bar BaKfar to that wishlist!
