A nation awaits: Justin Bieber is coming to Israel!

Oh crikey, I can hear the screaming teenage girls already…yes, Justin Bieber is coming to Israel! The Canadian teen confirmed yesterday that he will be performing in Israel on April 14 next year. The gig is expected to happen at the largest venue in Israel, HaYarkon Park, as concert organizers are counting on the hysteria surrounding the wee young lad to grow and grow over the coming months.

Wow, that could mean a crazy 60,000 screaming teens on a mid-April evening in Tel Aviv. I’m think I’m going to steer well clear…

Israeli producer Marcel Avraham is the guy you have to blame congratulate for bringing Justin Bieber to Israel. He was also the man behind the recent concerts of Elton John, Rod Stewart, Metallica and Leonard Cohen.

Bieber famously started out at just 12 when his mother posted clips of some cover songs he performed. His debut album, “My World”, was released to much acclaim last year and has been a big success.

Here’s a clip of his monster hit “Baby” from the summer. Just so you’ve got a little perspective of the hysteria surrounding the guy, this clip was the most viewed clip on YouTube in July with over 360 million views. Holy Moses!

And in case you really wanted to know, you can also join other Bieber fans in Israel on Facebook.
