With news of the release of Madonna’s new album set for the spring of 2012, and a first single from that album coming at the start of the year, the rumor mill has already started… Madonna is set to return to Israel!
After her amazing two concerts in Tel Aviv two years ago this very month (read our review of those amazing shows here – the lady is an entertainer!), we know there are a huge number of fans in Israel who’ll be more than delighted at the news of another Tel Aviv gig by the Queen of Pop. We aren’t huge fans of her music, but were totally won over by an amazing concert back in 2009. If you’ve enjoyed some of pop’s finest moments over the last 20 years or so, you won’t take much convincing either…
How firm is this rumor of a Madonna concert in 2012? Well, nothing is of course guaranteed, but Israel features in the list of 50 countries that have been chosen by tour sponsor Vodka Smirnoff to select a dancer who will dance with Madonna during her upcoming tour. And what with Madonna’s love for Kabalah teachings and her seemingly undying love for Israel, the chances of a concert in Tel Aviv have to be more than just pretty good.
In the meantime, the 2009 concert producers Shuki Weiss are keeping quiet. When something is a little more concrete, we’ll be sure to hear about it. For now, the rumor is of an April 2012 concert lined up, but I guess we can only wait and see…
