The cancellation season is long over (Elvis Costello and The Pixies among others managed to disappoint music fans here in the Holy Land this summer, but hey, welcome to the Middle East…), so it’s now time to welcome one of R&B’s greatest female artists, Missy Elliot! It’s her first ever trip to the Holy Land, and she’ll be performing tomorrow night at the Tel Aviv Fairgrounds.
Missy Elliot has been a bit of a barrier breaker in the male dominated world of rap, producing hit albums throughout the last two decades, and with over seven million album sales in the US alone. She’s also produced for stars such as Beyonce, Whitney Houston, Mariah Carey, and Aaliyah. She’s also mixed it up with Pink, Busta Rhymes and Lil Kim, among others.
Opening for Missy Elliot will be Israeli rap stars Hadag Nahash, much loved by the yoof of Israel. Respect baby.
