John Malkovich made a special Tel Aviv appearance to promote his upcoming weekend performance in the musical drama, The Infernal Comedy, held at the Eilat Chamber Music Festival. The drama is a mix of instrumental music, singing, and acting… and in Johnʼs words, “back to the roots of opera”.
The legendary actor describes the theater as a living organism, something that can only be experienced in the here and now; and though is he more commonly known for his movie roles, the theater is something near to his heart. “When I was a little boy my dream was to be in the Vienna Boys Choir, which didnʼt quite work out, soooo….. here I am.”
This rare performance will be a special treat, so get your tickets for the Festival early and be sure not to miss the one and only, the talented Mr. Malkovich. He’ll actually be performing in Tel Aviv at the Museum of Art on Wednesday 1 May, and then heading down to perform in Eilat on Thursday 2 May.
And while he is here for business and not too much pleasure (this isnʼt his first trip to Israel), he might just surprise us with an appearance at one of Israelʼs many amazing sites.
