What is the population of Israel, and just how many people live in Tel Aviv / Jerusalem?

IsraelisThe population of Israel is now just over 8 million people!

According to annual figures released by the Central Bureau of Statistics, the official population of Israel is 8,018,000, which is made up of 6,042,000 Jews (some 73%), 1,658,000 Arabs (20%), and 318,000 “others”, including Christian Arabs. The population has grown by some 137,000 since 2012.
