The population of Israel is now just over 8 million people!
According to annual figures released by the Central Bureau of Statistics, the official population of Israel is 8,018,000, which is made up of 6,042,000 Jews (some 73%), 1,658,000 Arabs (20%), and 318,000 “others”, including Christian Arabs. The population has grown by some 137,000 since 2012.
Another interesting fact is that when Israel was first declared a state in 1948, only Tel Aviv had more than 100,000 citizens. Today, there are 14 cities with a population of more than 100,000.
