Tourists stranded by the volcanic cloud over Europe get help from the Tourism Ministry

As the huge cloud of volcanic dust hangs over Europe and causes havoc to the world’s airline industry, it might be of some comfort for those tourists stranded in Israel that the Israel Tourism Ministry is doing its bit to ensure their stay is as painless as possible…

There might not be that much they can actually do, but the Tourism Ministry does have its tourism information service at Ben Gurion airport open 24/7, providing the many thousands of tourists stuck in Israel with information on where to go, where to stay and what to do in the meantime.

Jerusalem and Tel Aviv city mayors have responded to requests from Tourism Minister Stas Misezhnikov and will have an information booklet for those tourists stranded in Israel made available. The booklet will include information about services in Tel Aviv/Jerusalem, as well as places of entertainment and any events taking place at this time, and is to be distributed at hotels in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv by the relevant Hotels Association.

The Tourism Information Office at Ben Gurion airport operates 24/7, and is staffed by employees who speak several languages. If you want to get in touch, call via the Tourphone: *3888.
