The Tavor Festival: another Spring Galilee delight!

Tavor FestivalThe Tavor Festival happens this April, and is another sure-fire reason to come and visit the Galilee in the Spring!

The festival, which runs from April 19-28, includes a number of different cool events happening each day, all in the area of the magnificent Mount Tavor (often known as Mount Tabor), the mountain that dominates the Lower Galilee skyline.

Here’s a quick look at some of the highlights:

  • Round the Tabor Race: The 61st annual race around the Tabor happens on the 19th April. The race is split into two main races, the 11km and 5.5km runs, though there are also family friendly runs. See the event site for more details (Hebrew only).
  • Family Bike Ride: Take all the family for a bike ride along the beautiful Tavor River on the 20th April (morning).
  • Lectures and Guided Tours of the Galilee: Check out the various lectures and guided tours by local experts between the 21-24 April. Call 04-6628220 for more details.
  • Shalom Hanoch concert: Legendary Israeli rocker Shalom Hanoch will be performing an open air concert in Kfar Tavor on 25th April.
  • Art and Crafts Fair: Check out some awesome local arts and crafts at this fair, held on 26th April at Moshav Shadmot Devorah (3 minutes from Kfar Tavor).
  • Family Fun at Park Mayaan: The Tavor Festival closes on the 28th April with a huge event at Park Maayan in Kfar Tavor. Lots of fun for all the family, including climbing walls, rope bridges, and shows and activities for everyone!
