Yanni, the legendary composer and pianist, has confirmed a June concert in Tel Aviv!
Yanni will be making his first ever performance in Israel, after many years of being chased by some of Israel’s biggest music producers.
The date to mark in your calendars is June 19. The location: the Nokia Arena in Tel Aviv.
Yanni will be in Israel as part of the World Without Borders world tour, and will be accompanied by dozens of musicians, singers, and a 16-piece orchestra. The concert will feature his biggest hits from his career, as well as from his last studio album Truth of Touch.
Yanni is originally from Greece but has spent much of his life in the United States. His style is based around a blend of jazz, classical, soft rock, and world music, which means predominantly instrumental works. And yes, he’s probably not on the hot hipster hitlist, as his work is less suited to radio and MTV, but rather to huge concerts at historical monuments, such as his first big success, Yanni Live at the Acropolis.
Just to give you a summary of his success:
- Yanni Live at the Acropolis yielded the second best-selling music video of all time.
- At least 14 of Yanni’s albums have peaked at #1 in Billboard’s “Top New Age Album” category.
- He has performed in concert to over TWO million people in more than 20 countries.
