The Klezmatics, the Grammy-winning band from New York often labeled as “the planet’s radical Jewish roots band”, are returning to Israel for THREE concerts!
The band most noted for their revamping of old Yiddish tunes to much critical acclaim, will be performing at the Zappa clubs in Tel Aviv (28th August), Herzliya (29th August), and Jerusalem (30th August).
They might be well known for their Klezmer talents, but are a great band to catch live, so much so that even Time Out New York were blown away:
“The Klezmatics aren’t just the best band in the klezmer vanguard; on a good night, they can rank among the greatest bands on the planet.”
The Klezmatics were originally formed in the mid-80s and feature some of the biggest talents in Klezmer music, including Frank London the trumpeter.
