Bat Yam might not be the first town you think of for some awesome street entertainment, but check out the 2012 International Street Theater Festival this October and be prepared to get wowed!
The festival, now in its 16th year, has traditionally been a big player on the street festival scene in Israel, with some colorful and very entertaining street theater performed by local and international artists.
And even though it might have rebranded itself as Street C.A.T Bat Yam, where the C.A.T stands for Creative Artistic Theater, the Bat Yam festival is one of Israel’s largest festivals dedicated to theater, and uses the streets and exciting urban spaces, as its stages.
The dates to mark in your diary are 2-4 October, 2012. Be prepared to fight the crows a little bit though – some 150,000 visitors were reported over the same 3 days last year!
