Stephen Malkmus has joined the throngs of talent heading to the Holy Land this summer, and has lined up a concert in Tel Aviv on August 22.
Malkmus, the ex-frontman of one of indie music’s legendary bands, Pavement, will be performing at the Barby Club in Tel Aviv. Tickets range from 179 – 219 shekels. For more info about tickets, see the Barby website (in Hebrew only unfortunately), or call 03-5188123.
Pavement were one of America’s finest alternative rock bands through the 1990s, but split acrimoniously in 1999. They never really hit the big time but did become quite a polished act over their 10-year career and had a huge cult following. Malkmus will be here as a solo artist, and continuing to promote his much acclaimed solo album Mirror Traffic, which came out last summer.
