With another record breaking month in tourism stats to Israel in November, it’s starting to look like 2013 will end up as yet another record breaking year!
Some 306,000 visitors entered Israel during November, which is up 10% on the same month last year (but take into consideration that Operation Pillar of Defense also happened then). Of these visitor entries, 256,000 were officially tourists (staying more than one night), 15% up on last year – an all-time record for the month!
220,000 of those entries were by air, 19% up on last year, including 8,000 arrivals on direct flights to Eilat. 36,000 came through the border crossings, 7% down on last November.
There were some 49,000 entries by day visitors, 9% down on last year, with some 32,000 arriving on cruise ships (40% UP on last November). 15,000 day visitors arrived via the land crossings and about 2,000 by air.
From January to November, some 3.3 million tourists and day visitors arrived in Israel, almost exactly the same as the same period last year. Of these entries, 2.7 million were tourists, slightly up on the same period in 2012. 2.4 million entries were recorded by air, 3% up on the same period in 2012.
If you’re on the fence, get off it and come and join the party! There’s soooo much to see and do in this amazing land!
