New Wave legend Gary Numan lines up a Tel Aviv concert!

Gary Numan TelAvivOh yes, synth/New Wave fans rejoice – Gary Numan is coming to Tel Aviv for a concert in February 2014!

The man who launched a revolution in musical style at the end of the 1970s, Gary Numan will be performing at the Barby Club in Tel Aviv on February 10. This will be his first ever concert in Israel. Tickets are initially on sale at 220 shekels, callĀ 03-5221212 for details.

UPDATE: Due to demand, another date has been added – Gary Numan will also be performing the following day, February 11 at the same venue!

Gary Numan will be best remembered for his monster hits Are Friends Electric and Cars, which brought eyeliner to the boys of Britain back in 1979. He’ll be in Israel promoting his new album Splinter (Songs from a broken mind).

Some might ask just what the heck has he done musically in the last 30 years (apart from influencing many of today’s BIG names), but there’s no denying his role in the music world. Just ask any of his still fanatic Numanoid groupies, of which quite a few are in Israel apparently…

So yes, the start of 2014 looks like being a cracker for the 80s fans of you – what with Cyndi Lauper confirmed for January, and now Gary Numan, all we need now is a Police or Madness concert, eh?

Here’s a blast of Gary Numan from the long distant past…a classic!
