The awesomely funky American jazz trio Medeski Martin & Wood (otherwise known as MMW) will be performing in Tel Aviv on April 26!
If you’re looking for that little bit of funk in your life, then these guys could be right up your alley. The trio, made up of John Medeski, Billy Martin, and Chris Wood, have been together since 1991, and are renowned for their range of musical influences, from funk to hip-hop. Their somewhat unconventional style has even been christened “avant-groove”.
Medeski Martin & Wood’s gigs are famous for their exploratory nature, and include extended improvisations, which can be both arrhythmic and atonal, showing off their musicianship which rarely gets an outlet in the studio. Could be a very interesting gig!
