It’s official: Metallica to perform in Israel

After weeks of rumors, it’s now official: rock legends Metallica are coming to Israel! Recognized as probably the most successful metal band ever, this will be Metallica’s third visit to the Holy Land (after visits in 1993 and 1999), and a much anticipated addition to the impressive summer lineup

Mark your diaries: the concert’s scheduled for May 22nd, 2010, at the Ramat Gan Stadium (just outside of Tel Aviv). Tickets will be going for the usual 300-1200 shekels, depending on where you want to sit (the grass is always cheaper, but of course, if you’re vertically challenged, you might not get to see much of the show – trust me on that one).

Tickets go on sale on Saturday 6th March through the Lean ticket office and website, though I’ve also heard if you’re a fan club member tickets are already on sale. On Sunday the 7th, the general public can grab tickets via the phone (03-5270545).

Metallica will be here in Israel as part of their World Magnetic Tour. They’ll be in Portugal prior to the show here in Israel, and then fly off to Paris. Oh to be a rock legend…

Never really did much for me, though I know they have many, many fans over here in Israel. Here’s a quick reminder of what you can expect come May…
