It’s been a long 52 year wait, but Ringo Starr is finally coming to Tel Aviv!

Ringo Starr Tel AvivAfter some 52 years (the Beatles were set to perform here back in 1966 but the show was pulled by authorities worried about their influence on a naive Jewish youth – or perhaps it was just all down to egos and promoter issues…), Ringo Starr is finally performing in Tel Aviv, Israel!

The legendary – and now formally to be knighted – ex-Beatles drummer will be performing at the Menora Arena in Tel Aviv on June 23. Tickets start from 250 shekels – for more details, call *2207 for more details.

Currently only the one gig is confirmed, although Ringo’s site initially had two dates listed (also on the 24th)…so keep your eyes peeled for a possible second date!

Expect to hear Ringo and his band The All Starrs perform songs from their latest album Give More Love, as well as songs from yesteryear. Apparently you shouldn’t expect a Beatles love fest, although Ringo is known for performing With A Little Help From My Friends and Give Peace A Chance.

For a taste of what to expect…
