Indie rockers Interpol have confirmed they’ll be coming to perform in Tel Aviv on August 30th.
These post-punk New Yorkers have been around since the end of the 90s, but are largely regarded as one of the bigger names to come out of the New York indie scene in the Noughties (2000s).
My ears were grabbed, shaken about and thrown around the room upon hearing the amazing Evil for the first time a few years back, and the many comparisons with Joy Division and more notably vocalist Paul Banks with Ian Curtis are not without good reason. I love ’em and if I’m not in the crowd on August 30th I’ll be majorly disappointed…
The gig will be at the Ganei HaTarucha (Exhibition Grounds) on Rokach Street in Tel Aviv. Tickets are apparently going to start at 199 shekels but there is still no official source to purchase tickets from, so prices may well change. If you’re really keen to get your hands on some tickets you could check with our mates over at Anova Records, the Israeli record label, as they are a big reason Interpol will be coming to Israel.
Here’s a taste of what they can do, one of their biggies, C’mere.
