Harlem Gospel Choir head to Israel for THREE November / December concerts!

Harlem Gospel Choir in IsraelThe Harlem Gospel Choir, the world’s greatest gospel choir, will be performing THREE shows in Israel over November/December 2013!

The group will be making their first ever visit to Israel, and will be spreading their love and fine tunes to Tel Aviv, Jerusalem, and Herzliya. They are expected to perform some gospel classics, as well as a few numbers to remember the recently departed Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson. All three concerts will be at the local Zappa Club.

The Harlem Gospel Choir was first started in 1986, on Martin Luther King, Jr.’s birthday, January 15, and has since gone on to work with many of the biggest names in the music industry, including U2, Diana Ross, Elton John, and Madonna (remember them in the “Like a Prayer” video?). They’ve also performed in front of royalty, the Pope, Barack Obama, and Nelson Mandela.

The group has 40 singers and musicians, but when touring the world (the Harlem Gospel Choir tours every year) downsize to nine singers and two musicians (on keyboards and drums).

The scheduled shows are as follows:

  • November 29: Zappa Club, Tel Aviv
  • November 30: Zappa Club, Herzliya (due to demand, two shows are now on for the same evening)
  • December 1: Zappa Club, Jerusalem

Tickets are priced at 199 shekels. For more info, call the Zappa clubs on *9080. And for a taste of what to expect, see the video below (Hallelujah brother!)…
