Cairo & the Pyramids Tour

egypt-pyramids-tourTouring the Great Pyramids of Giza, Egypt is undoubtedly on many a bucket list – and when you’re in Israel and just a whisker away, it’s so easy to do that it really has to be added to that list!

For many, visiting the Great Pyramids is the ultimate fulfillment of a fantasy held since childhood…a childhood of tales and mysteries, cool stories and deadly curses.

Today, the Great Pyramids are still one of the hot tourist spots in the region, and often visited by tourists making their way through Israel or Jordan. And our 2 day tour of Cairo and the Pyramids is one of your best options if your goal is a hassle-fee, unforgettable trip!

This two-day tour starts from your hotel in Eilat. Pickup time varies a bit but should take place between 5:00-9:00 pm; so long as you’re staying in the Eilat area, you will be picked up! Just after 9:00 it’s time to
cross the border at Taba and begin your long road journey to Cairo. It’s a 10-12 hour drive, so if you’re a night owl, you’ll definitely enjoy the night trip. Of course, sleeping throughout the trip and saving up energy for a long day of sightseeing tomorrow is perfect!

Your next day starts at 8:00 am when you’ll arrive at Cairo and have a scrumptious breakfast. After that, the tour “officially” begins at 9:00 at your first destination, the Pyramids of Giza and The Great Sphinx.

These two places are awe-inspiring in their own unique way so make sure you have your camera at the ready! After grabbing a quick lunch, it’s time to visit Old Cairo, with highlights including places like the Coptic
Churches and the Muhammad Ali Mosque. After getting a taste of the real Egypt, head out to the Nile for a stunning river sunset (optional).

Afterwards, it’s time to head back to Cairo, where you’ll be staying at a great hotel. The next day, breakfast will be served at around 8:00 am and then it’s another full day of adventure ahead, with a visit to the Cairo Museum, followed by a trip to the Khan El-Khalili Bazaar Market in Old Cairo. Bring some cash with you as you’ll be tempted by many a bargain!

At 2:00 in the afternoon it’s time to head back to Eilat, with arrival back at your hotel around midnight. It’s an action-packed two days, but oh so worth it!
