The rumors are now true – Barbra Streisand will be performing in Israel this coming June!
Top Israeli promoter Shuki Weiss had been negotiating with Streisand for some time and it has now been confirmed she’ll be performing one concert, a show in honor of President Peres on June 20! President Peres will be celebrating his 90th birthday with a conference full of the biggest names in showbiz, politics, and art.
UPDATE: Barbra Streisand will now be performing a second show, on June 22!
The concert will be taking place at an especially revamped Tel Aviv Bloomfield Stadium. Tickets are on sale to the general public from 29 March and will start at 420 shekels. Call *9066 for details.
This will be Streisand’s first EVER concert in Israel (she’s visited a number of times, but never performed on stage).
A true living legend, Barbra Streisand is without doubt one of the greatest singers in American music, and has sold some 140 million records worldwide.
And any doubts that she might pull a Liza (fellow diva Liza Minnelli was expected to perform back in 2011, but that never happened) have been well and truly kicked into touch!
