The Afro-Cuban All Stars, a Cuban band led by the legendary Juan de Marcos González, will be performing a concert in Israel in April!
The concert will take place at the Shuni Amphitheater in Binyamina (a 40 minute drive north from Tel Aviv) on April 27, and tickets cost 219 shekels. For more details call 03-5107070.
The Afro-Cuban All Stars is a unique orchestra devoted to promoting the full range of Cuban music, and with González leading the line, have achieved great success, including FOUR Grammy nominations. They are probably best known for their Buena Vista Social Club sessions, which produced the 1996 album A Toda Cuba Le Gusta, and the legendary Buena Vista Social Club CD .
Since they first started in the early 90s, many band members have hit the big-time internationally, including performers such as Rubén González, Ibrahim Ferrer, Guillermo Rubalcaba, and Manuel “The Guajiro” Mirabal.
