Legends galore! Ray Manzarek & Robby Krieger (The Doors) and Bryan Ferry coming to Israel!

The list of talent heading to the Holy Land just got a little bit longer (and legend heavy) with the news that Ray Manzarek and Robby Krieger of The Doors AND Roxy Music frontman – and of course, King of Suave – Bryan Ferry, are heading to Israel.

We don’t think anyone needs introducing to the music of Ray Manzarek, co-founder of one of the greatest rock bands of all-time. Now in his 70s, don’t expect him to go all Jim Morrison and strut his stuff on stage like the devil possessed. But it will be kind of amazing to see one of rock’s greats here in Israel, performing some of his classic tracks under the revamped Doors, now known as Riders On The Storm.

Together with Robby Krieger, who wrote some of The Doors’ classics, including Light My Fire and Love Her Madly, the show planned for 5th July at Hangar 11 in Tel Aviv Port promises to be a cracker. Tickets will  be going for 349-499 shekels. Call 03-5215200 for details.

And then there’s the King of Cool, the legendary Bryan Ferry. Frontman for the classic 70s band Roxy Music, Ferry has also had a very successful solo career over the years, in addition to being a hit with the ladies. Oooh Brian, give us one of those steely stares…He’ll be here on the 19th April (now 22nd June, the gig was moved to Bryan pulling a sickie) at the Hechal HaTarbut in Tel Aviv. Expect to pay anything from 250 – 900 shekels for some sophisticated crooning. Call 03-5247373 for details.

It’s going to be a long hot summer!

Here’s Bryan Ferry performing one of my personal all-time faves…

And here’s The Doors, performing their very best…
