Oh yes, the summer roster of stars coming to perform in Israel in 2010 just got longer once again. This time, it’s blond bombshell Rod Stewart coming back to the Holy Land for the first time since 1983, when he was just a wee bit younger, and quite possibly sexier.
Rod is lined up to perform at the Ramat Gan stadium on July 1st, the same stadium his old pal Elton John is scheduled to perform at two weeks earlier (and where Depeche Mode and Leonard Cohen did the business last year).
Tickets are expected to go on sale January 26th, with no news yet of any prices. Expect to pay through the nose, of course. Rod Stewart is, of course, a big name in the music industry, with some 300 million albums sold. But one who hasn’t really done anything for, er, years.
Anyway, let’s hope that he gets a better reaction than the flares and beer cans thrown at him on his last appearance here…and here’s one of his greatest songs that does it for many, many people, just to get you in the mood for some live Rod…
