Legendary 60s crooner Pat Boone is performing in Tel Aviv in March 2016!
Pat Boone, who first started out in the 1950s, is officially ranked the second highest selling artist in the 1950s behind Elvis Presley (Elvis was actually the warm-up act for Pat Boone at one point!), and is still immensely popular across the world, even though he’s now in his 80s.
His hits include Ain’t That a Shame, Blueberry Hill, Moody River, Bernadine, Johny Will, The Exodus Song, Don’t Forbid Me, Remember You’re Mine, A Wonderful Time, Up There, I Almost Lost My Mind, and I’ll See You In My Dreams. And yes, he’s sold quite a few albums in his time – some 45 million!
Perhaps more impressively, he’s a big fan of Israel. He wrote the theme song to the hit movie Exodus, and every few years brings groups of Christian supporters of Israel to the Holy Land.
Expect one heck of a nostalgic night!
The concert takes place on March 1, at Tel Aviv’s Hichal HaTarbut, with tickets starting at 200 shekels. For more details call *9066.
