UPDATED 2019: The exhibition is back in town for the summer of 2019!
Here’s another cracking exhibition for summer 2013 – the Art of the Brick, an international Lego exhibition that will hit Tel Aviv from June to August!
This exhibition has been touring the world recently, and has even been called one of the must-sees of 2013 by CNN.
Perfect for all the family, this exhibition includes some 40 Lego sculptures by New Yorker Nathan Sawaya, an artist who uses Lego because he enjoys “seeing people’s reactions to artwork created from something with which they are familiar”.
The exhibition has some amazing sculptures, including PM Benjamin Netanyahu and President Shimon Peres, with some of the exhibits made up of between 15-25,000 Lego bricks!
The kids who turn up (and the inner kid in you!) will also be able to enjoy themselves, as there will be special areas with PLENTY of bricks to work with!
The exhibition runs from June 27 – August 27, and is located at the Exhibition Grounds in Tel Aviv.
Opening hours: Sun – Thurs (and Saturday) 08:30-20:30, Fridays 08:30-17:00.
Tickets cost 99 shekels, though soldiers, students and seniors get a discount price of 75 shekels. A family ticket is also available for 280 shekels. Call *2274 or 03-5620255 for tickets.
See the official site for more details, and to buy tickets (Hebrew only unfortunately).
