15 Seconds: a new art exhibition in Tel Aviv from Amiram Eini

15 Seconds with Amiram EiniIf you’re looking for an awesomely fresh art exhibition in Tel Aviv, head to the ZOA Gallery on 26 Ibn Gvirol Street from the 6th January for an overdose of inspiring and emotion-filled art from Israeli artist Amiram Eini!

Amiram’s exhibition is called 15 Seconds, and is a look back at the recent conflict in Gaza (the “Pillar of Cloud” Amud Annan operation) and specifically to the time that people had to get to a shelter once the air-raid sirens had gone off.

Alongside the many paintings he produced for the exhibition – Amiram was actually in Germany when the conflict kicked off, and had to struggle with his emotions and worries about his family in Israel from afar, feelings which are expressed through many pieces in the exhibition – Amiram also created a video featuring a collage of parts of films and Internet messages/adverts, in turn showing the absurdity and the extreme that war creates between the two sides.

15 Seconds with Amiram EiniAmiram Eini was born and raised in Norway and studied art in Oslo for some five years. His art has been on display in exhibitions throughout Europe, including London, Germany and Paris.

A multi-talented guy, and general all-round top geezer, Amiram has also been working hard on his music career lately (he made it into our list of Top 10 Israeli songs of 2012, and was also the guest star at our recent Christmas Party!).

The 15 Seconds exhibition opens on Sunday 6th January and lasts til early February. The exhibition also features artwork from the longstanding Peace Art Collection from the late Deborah Fisher, a collection that strives to bring about understanding, patience and tolerance between rivals, and also features pieces from Palestinians.

The opening night will also feature Amiram performing some of his songs, so do your best to try and catch him!
