One of the world’s truly great musicals, Cats, will be performing in Israel this November!
The musical based on the book by TS Eliot, and composed by Andrew Lloyd Webber was first performed in the New London Theater back in 1981, but has since gone on to perform over 9000 times in 26 countries around the world – and now comes to Israel for the very first time!
The story of a tribe of cats known as the Jellicles, who meet annually to decide who will ascend to the Heaviside Layer and come back to a new life, has charmed some 50 million people in those 9000 shows, and looks set to do the same in Tel Aviv this November.
The show in Tel Aviv will actually have eight performances (due to huge demand, make that 13!), all at the Tel Aviv Performing Arts Center (Mann Auditorium) on November 5-15, 2014. Tickets are on sale now, and start at 200 shekels a pop. For more details, call *9066.
Let’s just hope things calm down in this neck of the woods and fairly shortly, otherwise this could go the way of many of the big name gigs recently…
Cats is legendary for its poetry, as well as the monster hit Memory. And if you needed convincing of what to expect, here’s a slice of the action…
