The Jerusalem Ice Festival returns to the Holy City in February 2013!

Jerusalem Ice FestivalAfter last year’s very successful and first ever Jerusalem Ice Festival, you’ll be pleased to hear that the festival will be returning to Jerusalem this February!

Last year’s festival was apparently a sell-out, with large crowds there pretty much non-stop. Due to demand, the festival was actually extended til the end of May.

You had to get there early to really appreciate the festival and its amazing ice sculptures. Our Ruth was there and she wrote up an amazing review of the Jerusalem Ice Festival – so yes, we’re expecting an even bigger and festival this year!

The dates to mark in your calendar: February 20 – April 30, 2013!

The festival will take place at the Old Railway Station in Jerusalem. Among other things, you can expect to see some of Jerusalem’s major sites featured as ice sculptures, including the Tower of David and one of Jerusalem’s hottest new attractions, the Jerusalem Light Rail.

As far as we can see, tickets will cost 65 shekels per person. Recommended for all the family, and for children aged 3+. If your kids are into  ice-skating, head to the ice-rink which is also expected to return – but they’ll have to be at least aged 7, or a minimum shoe size of 30. See the official site for more details.

Yes, it will be cold (temperatures will be kept at -10C) – so dress for it!

And here’s a taste from last year’s festival!
