The annual Jerusalem Film Festival has fast become a must-attend for movie fans in Israel. The festival typically screens movies and documentaries from around the world and this year celebrates its 30th anniversary!
This year the festival takes place over July 4-14, and will, as usual, feature some amazing films from around the world, as well as honorary guests, panels, and other general festivities.
See the official website for more info about all the films and screenings. Tickets cost between 31-44 shekels per movie, depending on the number of tickets purchased and whether you are a Cinematheque member. Call 02-5654350 for more details.
Most of the movies are screened at the Cinematheque in Jerusalem, although on the opening night there is an outdoor screening of “Hunting Elephants” at the Sultan’s Pool.
In the meantime, we’ve picked out a few trailers below for you to get a taste of what’s on offer at this year’s festival.
