The Jazz Globus Festival returns to warm a wintry Jerusalem!

Jazz Globus FestivalIf ever there was a city built for jazz, Jerusalem could well be it! And for the many, many jazz fans throughout Israel, not just Jerusalem, the Holy City should be your destination in the coming weeks (combine it with a tour of some of Jerusalem’s best attractions), as the International Jazz Globus Festival returns to warm the cockles!

The festival, now in its 9th year, will be taking place from November 28 – December 3. The various concerts will be happening at the Harmony Hotel in Jerusalem.

Over 70 Israeli and international jazz names will be performing during the festival, at five main concerts. As is the case every year, the festival takes on a unique theme: this year the festival is dedicated to memorable dates of well-known performers, iconic album releases, and the world premieres of compositions that have rocked the jazz world.

  • The Jerusalem Swing Band
  • Legendary European drummer Guenter Sommer
  • Legendary saxophonist Boris Gammer
  • The Magic Trombone of Elias Faingersh
  • Pianist Kari Ikonen
  • Percussionist Gilad Dobrecky
  • Pianist Anat Fort

Also watch out for the famous Jam Session on Day 5 (December 2) of the festival, which will be taking place at “Birman” (8 Dorot Rishonim St, Jerusalem).
