The annual International Hot Air Balloon Festival in Israel is one NOT to miss, and perfect for all the family!
This year it takes place over August 10-11 at Park HaBasor (part of the Eshkol Park in the Western Negev).
This is a great event for all the family, with attractions for everybody. On the first day, the action starts at 16:00 (though get there early, as there have been incidents of some crazy waiting times at the entrance to the car park). Expect to see all kinds of arts and crafts stalls, while the balloons will be giving a stunning NIGHT GLOW show, which is one not to miss!
On the second day the action starts at 5:30am with the balloons getting ready for take off, and there are various other activities running until 4pm, plus you have the pools and picnic areas of the park itself to enjoy.
Tickets cost 145 shekels per person for both days (for everyone aged 3+ – but there is a family friendly ticket that costs 475 shekels for 4 people). That price – and it ain’t cheap – includes everything, including all the activities available for the kids and the park’s facilities. It doesn’t however, include a ride in a balloon.
For more information about the festival, see the official website (only in Hebrew unfortunately).
