As in previous years, the Israeli Ministry of Tourism is making it easier for tourists to get to and from Bethlehem for the Christmas festivities!
With some 70,000 tourists expected in Israel primarily for the Christmas celebrations, the Ministry has set up some awesome free transportation for 24 hours! From noon on Christmas Eve through to noon on Christmas Day, the free shuttle service should prove a great help for those of you trying to get to Bethlehem (the ultimate pit-stop on Christmas Eve, surely?).
Buses will leave every hour on the hour from the bus stop near the Carta Parking lot (opposite Jaffa Gate and near to the Mamilla Boulevard). The bus will also stop near the entrance to the Mar Elias Monastery, and at the Rosmarin junction, before continuing via Rachel’s Crossing to Bethlehem – and then back again.
And it gets even sweeter – the Ministry of Tourism reps will be out in force at Rachel’s Crossing with a gift bag in the spirit of the holiday.
