You Won’t Succeed on Broadway if You Don’t Have Any Jews

Broadway You Won’t Succeed on Broadway if You Don’t Have Any Jews – a co-production with Collaborative Artists LTD (London), is coming to the Tel Aviv Museum of Art this July!

This summer, in a world first, Jewish theater stars from London’s famous West End will explode onto Tel Aviv’s theater scene with hit show You Won’t Succeed on Broadway if You Don’t Have Any Jews – alongside a company of household name Israeli performers, dancers and live musicians – making theater history.

You Won’t Succeed on Broadway if You Don’t Have Any Jews is a celebration of over 80 years of the Jewish contribution to Musical Theater. The audience are guided through a captivating musical journey from the 1930s to present day, with the fascinating and unique success stories of Broadway’s most famous Jewish composers accompanied by all-singing, all-dancing performances of their greatest hits. From the early sounds of the Gershwins and Irving Berlin through to showstoppers from contemporary blockbusters Rent and Hairspray – there is something for everybody to enjoy in this joyful show, fresh from its sell-out run in London’s West End.

The show will be performed at the beautiful Assia Auditorium in the Tel Aviv Museum of Art – with the entrance from the Tel Aviv Performing Arts Centre courtyard, which is also home to the Cameri Theater and the Israeli Opera.  Tickets are on sale as of today from Leaan.

Tel Aviv based Director, Eidan Lipper (who trained in New York at AMDA and Julliard and has worked on over 20 productions in Israel, New York and Los Angeles as well as being the Head of HaMaslul, the Musical Theater Academy of Tel Aviv), will join the show as Assistant Director.  Cast members from London include Jackie Marks (London theater superstar, who featured in the Les Miserables movie, as well as being the first ever British ‘Fantine’ in the West End show, ‘Nancy’ in Oliver! and many more roles besides), Mira Ormala (‘Christine’ in Love Never Dies, Andrew Lloyd Webber’s sequel to Phantom of the Opera) and other stars who between them have performed in shows all across the West End such as Rent and West Side Story – and at prestigious venues including the National Theater and Royal Albert Hall.

Joining the cast from London are top-class Israeli performers including Cameri actor Yiftach Mizrahi, who most recently appeared in Cabaret at the acclaimed Tel Aviv theater, but more recently could, too, be seen gracing the boards of London’s West End in From Here to Eternity.
