To cut a long story short – One Arab. One Jew. Two Very Funny Guys.
The Jew: Rabbi Bob Alper served two congregations for 14 years and in 1986 found his unique rabbinate: bringing laughter to individuals and communities. He performs across North America and in London, appearing frequently on radio and TV.
The Arab: Egyptian-born, California-raised, Ahmed Ahmed is a founder of “The Axis of Evil Comedy Tour,” performing from California to Yemen. He’s appeared in movies such as Don’t Mess with the Zohan and headlines regularly at comedy clubs internationally.
Together, Bob and Ahmed have performed over 150 times, in synagogues, churches, mosques, theaters, corporate events, and most often, colleges, where the Arab and Jewish students jointly co-sponsor their appearances.
The shows are in Jerusalem, Tel Aviv, and Haifa (80 shekels a ticket):
- Saturday night – August 15 – Jerusalem – 21:30 at the Yellow Submarine
- Sunday night – August 16 – Tel Aviv – 20:00 at Tzavta 3
- Monday night – August 17 – Haifa – 20:00 Beit Hagefen Arab Jewish Cultural Center
