Klezmer Festival 2015

Safed Klezmer FestivalThe annual Safed (Tzfat) Klezmer Festival returns to light up the Galilee!

This year is the 28th year of the three-night open-air festival, taking place from August 18-20, with additional master classes being held from August 24-28 (students from all over the world study with great Klezmer musicians and each evening a performance is held featuring the students and the teachers – FREE for the general public). During the festival, stages are set up throughout the city and visitors can wander from stage to stage through the alleyways and lanes of the Old Jewish Quarter and Artist Quarter.

On each of the three nights of the festival, performances begin approximately at 9:00p.m. and continue until after midnight. The performances are FREE and are all located within a 5 – 15 minute walk of each other in the town’s center.

In addition to the free performances there will also be many other activities including a stage for “Klezmerim for Kids”, musical tours of Safed and tours and workshops looking into the spirit of kabbalah.
