Baroque Opera Festival

Baroque Opera FestivalThe Baroque Opera Festival will come to life in the city of Akko. The concerts are under the direction of the conductor Christophe Rousset, who conducts Les Talens Lyriques, a baroque ensemble.

There will be four operas in concert form that will take place.

On Saturday, September 24th: Tamerlano by Handel will be performed.

On Sunday, September 25th: Actaeon by Marc-Antoine Charpentier as well as Dido & Aeneas by Purcell will be performed.

On Monday, September 26th it will be  Alcina by Handel that will round off the performance schedule.

The musical ensemble Les Talens Lyriques was created twenty years ago by the harpsichordist and orchestral conductor Christophe Rousset. This instrumental and vocal ensemble promotes a wide lyrical and instrumental repertoire ranging from Early Baroque to the dawn of Romanticism, seeking to throw light on the great masterpieces of the history of music by performing rare or unpublished works that are genuine missing links in the European musical heritage.
