Etgar BeHar, Kibbutz Sasa: a superb rope-climbing challenge in the Upper Galilee!

etgar beharIf you’re looking for a great challenge for you and the kids (or even you and your fellow vacationers/work colleagues), head to the Etgar BeHar (roughly translated to Challenge on the Hill) rope park in the Upper Galilee!

Located in a lovely tree-filled area at Kibbutz Sasa (see the map below), the rope park is definitely a bit of a challenge and not for the lily-livered! There is a fairly long rope climbing course to complete, some of which is fairly high up in the trees; all in all, the course will take you approximately an hour, if you’re in reasonable shape. With the additional omega (zip cord), climbing wall, and other rope ladders to try, you can easily spend a nice couple of hours here!

If you have smaller kids, there’s also a smaller, much lower rope-climbing course, which is a little challenging for the little ones, but a great option for those not quite big enough to tackle the main course.

The guys running the park are very experienced, and also very friendly, we had a great time! The park also runs workshops and special events, and yes, expect it to be busy during school holidays!

One thing that impressed us: we paid for our fun day after completing the course. Apparently, Etgar BeHar believes in trust, and only expect you to pay for the sections you actually completed. Nice touch!

TOP TIP: After sweating your way around Etgar BeHar, head to the Booza ice-cream factory at the entrance to Kibbutz Sasa!
