However Jewish the state of Israel might be, the bread and butter of the tourist industry in Israel is, without a doubt, the Christian traveler. The Israeli Tourism Ministry obviously goes to great lengths to promote the Holy Land to its potential Christian visitors, many of whom are enticed over thanks to some of the most amazing tourist sites in the Christian world.
But however enticing those amazing sites are, I watched this promotional video aimed at the Christian market (with the tag line “You’ll never be the same…”, see below) and have to conclude that this is perhaps one of the corniest clips I’ve ever seen. OK, the images are impressive if a little obvious, but the music, and lyrics…I can’t help but wonder, do people actually go out and buy a ticket to Israel after watching this?
