Spencer Tunick returns for the Dead Sea Float: one year on from convincing 1000 Israelis to strip naked!

Spencer Tunick: Dead Sea FloatSpencer Tunick, the now legendary photographer renowned for taking pictures of thousands of naked volunteers in projects across the world, will be returning to the Dead Sea to continue in efforts to bring awareness to the plight of the Dead Sea, the lowest place on Earth.

A year after famously convincing some 1000 Israeli volunteers to strip naked and float in the Dead Sea, Spencer Tunick will be returning for the Dead Sea Float, a now annual event held by the Save Our Sea organization, who are attempting to bring yet more international attention to the shrinking coastline of the Dead Sea.

The Dead Sea Float will take place on September 14, and is expected to host thousands of people, all of whom are contributing something (a minimum of $1) to take part in the float (read more here about how to take part). The float takes place at 09:00 at Ein Bokek Public Beach. Note there are special buses scheduled to leave Tel Aviv at 3am, and will return after the float at 10am (bus fare is $35).

And no, no nakedness required for this one, though the Save Our Sea guys are hoping Spencer will take a few photos anyway.
