5 awesome views of the Dead Sea you won’t get to see in Israel

We might have mentioned this before, but the Dead Sea is one of our favorite spots in the Holy Land. The stark, desert scenery, with glorious sunrises and perfect floating-in-water escapades, is the stuff of a real holiday. But something that might escape you as you steady yourself in the salty waters is the fact that the Dead Sea also has a Jordanian half.

Oh yes, as you look out across the shimmering waters, you can’t help but notice the mountains across the lake. And did you ever stop to wonder what those on the Jordanian half were thinking or seeing, as they too paddled and floated in the Great Salty One? Let’s face it, they might just have the better option, with some glorious sunsets to feast their eyes on (it’s almost impossible to catch a sunset from the Israel side because the Dead Sea sits at the foot of some awesome mountains and the sun disappears behind them early…).
