Those of you looking for something to do with the kids over the next few days, should definitely head over to the annual flower picking festival on Moshav Be’er Tuvia, next to Kiryat Milakhi!
This awesomely colorful event centers round a huge field of flowers known as Nuriot in Hebrew (which we believe are Persian buttercups in English), located just off Road 40 heading south.
The field is open Friday-Saturday only, and every day during Passover. Hours open: 09:30 – 18:00 (Saturdays and during Pessach), 09:30-16:00 Fridays. It costs around 40 shekels for a big cup and a pair of scissors; get your kids to put as many flowers as you can squeeze into the cup. We did it a couple of years ago (iGoogled Junior is in the pic above), and had a blast!
And hurry – the crop of flowers usually only lasts 2 or 3 weeks, though the site is open all through May too (only on weekends)!
